Coin Hip Scarf
what should a decent hip scarf look like? or a belly dance costume, how do u know whats good?
i want to buy 1 and saw a lovely 1 (well i thought it was) it was black with gold coins both the scarf and top, would professionals look and say “thats so stupid lookin” or does it not really matter coz its only a costume? what are the best colours for belly dancing? i really want 1 but i dont wana buy it and waist my money unless i know im getting a good 1 so what ar the rules, what are nthe do’s and don’ts with costume
I don’t know of any rules concerning hip scarves. What you do want is something that is made well enough to be worn for awhile before any coins or beads may come loose. Shimmies will eventually wear the thread that the coins and beads are attached to the sash with. Just like anything that you wear alot, it won’t last forever. But you do want it to last an appropriate amount of time. When buying costumes you want to be sure it is well-constructed. You don’t want “wardrobe malfunctions”. Costumes, especially bra/belt sets, may be made with the assumption that the purchaser will make any necessary adjustments. Of course, there is a limit to just how much you can alter any costume. You should choose a color that’s flattering to you.
