Genuine Leather Wallet
is it against the law to sell leather wallet that are not leather?
I want to advertise my wallets as leather wallets as they are leather like (they look like leather). However, they are not. They are a synthetic material. I am not going to advertise it as “genuine leather” but simple leather (its not technically any type of leather – I dont think it is even sheeps leather).
Is this legal?
Not only that, but will my customers feel tricked? I am going to sell them on ebay so I cannot have any hard feels or they going to ruin my reputation. To be fair they are going to be compensated with a high fashion label brand name that is on them, as they are fakes.
I am not going to sell them with the brand name showing. The reason for them being leather is simply they look like leather.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Of course they will feel “tricked”. Calling something leather when it is not leather is misrepresentation and fraud. They are NOT leather. It is WRONG to say they are! If you sell them as leather when they’re not, be prepared for a lot of complaints and disputes against you.
