The most durable clip on hair extensions come with silicone-backed clips which are easy to use – they simply snap open and close every time you apply pressure on the sides of the clips. The wider wefts usually have about 3-4 clips while the narrower ones only need about one clip per piece. Silicone-backed clips do not damage your hair and they can be easily attached firmly onto your natural hair.
Clip on hair is fairly easy to apply and after a few practice sessions, you should be able to apply a full set in under 15 minutes. Good clip on hair will come with clips that have a silicone backing. This ensures that the clips do not damage your own hair and also they provide a more secure fit and will be less likely to fall out. Each weft of hair is applied one at a time, and usually the wider wefts are applied first. They should be applied to the base of the head first and then working your way up with each weft being applied approximately one inch above the previous one. Once all the hair has been applied, the hair can be combed through gently and then styled however you like.
