Hair Half Wig
My hair is seriously damaged , I have afro-american hair, what can I do to make it grow under a wig?
I have considered cutting it all off and sporting a balding. But my pride will get in the way so I know that won’t work. I have worn weave the most part of my life and just can’t stop.
After having children my hair has fell out and broke off.
What kind of grease, chemical or whatever can I put in my hair to make it grow under my half-wig. I am 22 years old and just for a change want to wear my hair, my own hair.
Please any advice on what I should use would be greatly appreciated.

I’m 18 and all my life I had really healthy hair and took great care of it. Permed, but really thick and strong. In december i color stripped my hair at a salon and got it dyed. Now my hair is thinner and dry and splitting like a branch.
I think you should take vitamins. i used to take a multivitamin, but decided to stop taking those and bought these vitamins/supplements at walmart for like 6 bucks that says “skin, hair and nails.” They have everything a multivitamin but extra stuff for hair, skin, nails. I’ve only used them for a week but I’ve noticed my nails getting REALLY hard and my skin getting more radiant, so I know it must be working to strengthen my hair as well. if not, I hear prenatal vitamins (also sold at walmart or from your doctor) are really great for strenghtening your hair. You don’t need anything expensive or claiming to grow hair, because to be honest your hair grows a certain amount and that really won’t change. You just need what you have growing in to be strong and healthy and to preserve any old hair from splitting.
First off do you perm/relax your hair? If so, I would consider not doing that aanymore if your hair is short to begin with. Once your hair grows a bit you can cut off all the old relaxed hair. Wait for your hair to grow a little more with the wigs, THEN relax it once the damaged hair is gone if you want to go back to relaxers. Also, once it starts to grow you can trim it 2 to 4 times a year.
I would suggest going to a hair place or any place that sells black hair care products and go for the ones for relaxed hair or the ones that are really moisturizing(I think Profectiv and pantene for BLACK women are pretty good and not expensive-jsut make sure its pantene for blacks, because the original brand is terrrible). Make sure you wash your hair once a week and deep condition for 30 minutes to an hour with a cap on or under a dryer with some mayonaisse based conditioner. Then put leave in conditioner(proce doesnt matter. As long as its moisturizing and for black hair than youre fine.
As for oiling your hair, I suggest purchasing a hair lotion to put in your scalp/hair every other day or so as well as a hair sheen to spray your hair with. Don’t use grease because although your hair “appears” nice, in reality it’s just clogging your scalp.
Stay AWAY from gel. it’s TERRIBLE for your hair.
And only apply heat from a blowdryer ONCE a week at most, like when you dry it. (AIR DRYING is better though. Also sun is great to encourage hair growth)
