Long Wavy Brown
Those lovely, shiny, long tresses bouncing with joy and vitality are perhaps the best accessory a woman can have. Long hair has its own beauty. However, managing them and keeping them healthy is a fairly difficult task. With today’s hectic lifestyle, people hardly have the time to look after themselves, leave alone their tresses. So, in comes the pair of scissors and out goes the long hair. Long hair has lost its fans as a short haircut is easy to maintain and is also easy on the pocket. Yet, you can’t deny the sheer awe that well maintained long tresses still manage to get from onlookers.
If you want to manage long hair effectively, here are a few tips:
- Long hair tends to get tangled a lot, especially if you have wavy or curly locks. Untangle them with a wide toothed comb and not a brush. Use it gently with downward strokes and work up from the end tips to the roots.
- Look out for split ends and trim the ends every 3-4 months.
- Proper conditioning is very important. After a shampoo, use conditioners to make your hair soft.
- Wash your tresses with warm or cold water. Avoid using hot water as it makes your mane frizzy.
- While drying, do not rub your hair with the towel. Just squeeze out the water.
- Do not comb your hair just after taking a bath as the roots are weakest when they are totally wet. Comb your hair when it is half dry.
- Brush them regularly. Frequent brushing improves blood circulation of your scalp and removes traces of grime and dirt from your hair.
- Use good quality hair care products. Do not use too many chemical based styling products or detergent based shampoos. Instead, use a herbal hair pack once a week.
- Do not blow dry your hair or use hair curlers or straightening irons too often. They tend to dry out the hair, which then becomes brittle, weak and gives rise to split ends.
- While sleeping at night, you can braid your hair loosely. Don’t make the braids too tight or it may break your hair. Use hair scrunchies instead of rubber bands as long hair often gets entangled in rubber bands.
Finally, the most important thing about maintaining long hair is eating the right food and getting a good night’s sleep. Include fresh fruits and green vegetables in your diet and drink lots of water. Keep your stress level to a minimum, sleep well and soon your long tresses will have a healthy glow.
