Baby bird with a broken neck?
My sister found Him at the side of the road today rolling around on his neck, when he tried standing it looked as though he was top heavy and couldn’t get more than his hind end up. His wings don’t seem to be broken due to the fact he is continually flapping them. We fixed a box up for him filling it half way up with grass so that he was comfortable and warm. If he did break his neck or was suffering from head trauma how could i tell?
Baby birds (unless extremely young) can hold their head up to get food, because if they don’t they starve to death. He most likely has a broken neck, it was a good job that you saved him
However, it is illegal for you to have this bird. Call a wild life center in your area to come pick the bird up (free of charge) so they can heal it’s neck, feed it properly, and release it back into the wild. It’s better for the bird, trust me. Ninety percent of wild baby birds die in captivity…
All birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, so the Fish & Game Dept. could arrest you, or fine you for having this bird. Please give him to a wild life center so you, the bird, and wild life center/F&G D. can live a happier and better life 
If you can’t get to one now, feed the bird wet dog food, or cat/dog food soaked in hot water (muched up). This has the proper nutrients and proteins to sustian it until you can get him to a wild life center.
