Oakley Pro M-frame: Aluminum frame vs. regular plastic frame?
Whats better to go with on the frame? Ive heard the regular frame can bend beyond belief and return to its normal shape no problem. However, with aluminum being a metal, if it did happen to bend it would stay bent right? Id love to buy the aluminum frame, i just dont want a freak accident to ruin $200 sunglasses. In terms of durability and life, which would be the better option?
AKAIK, there are no “aluminum” M Frames. There are Mag M-Frames but they’re pretty old.
M Frames should be all made from O-Matter which is a nylon based material. It may look like plastic, but it’s definitely not. You can bend and twist those aroudn and they will come back.
Any of the Oluminum (Oakley’s version of Aluminum) glasses like the Crosshair, the Felon, etc. will bend and be pretty tweaked.
Ii have 5 pairs of M Frames and 6 pairs of Crosshairs. I know how each reacts to impact.
