Fighting the BP Oil Spill with Enviro Bond 403™
Many weapons are being brought out to help clean up the mess left behind by the BP oil spill. Beaches are becoming saturated with oil and businesses are reporting that this is the worst year they have experienced. However, there are some things that have proven to work against oil spills and they are being utilized to help keep the beaches clean. Enviro Bond 403™ is one such weapon that can transform the oil into a floating solid once it makes contact with the agent. It is a polymer that bonds with oil, diesel fuel, gas and other hydrocarbons in liquid form and becomes a solid mass. Oil spill cleanup is a lot easier when you have a mass to pick up rather than a liquid. The bonding is molecular, which is more powerful than just soaking up the oil. This encapsulation process begins as soon as the oil touches Enviro Bond 403™.
Enviro Bond 403™ allows for easier oil spills clean up which are cost effective as well. It takes less effort to clean up a mass of rubber material and disposal and labor costs are reduced as a result. Also, any danger of ignition is reduced because it will suppress vapors and off-gassing by as much as 80 percent within five minutes of application. Also, if the oil spill is on water, the mass will float, making it easier to retrieve. The agent can be placed in absorbent booms, where it will be caught before it even reaches shore. In addition, it is absolutely harmless to wildlife and any fish in the water.
Since it has an indefinite shelf life, Enviro Bond 403™ can be stored away for years until needed. You do not need to put on extra protective clothing when dealing with Enviro Bond 403™. It will not harm anyone or cause skin irritations.
Also, the agent can be placed inside HESCO® units and become an effective beach barrier for any oil slick that tries to come onshore. The HESCO® units are made of a cellular structure and come in an accordion design, which gives them a stable core that is backed up with a pyramid design of three rows inside.
