Stretch Beaded Magic
Does anyone know a good method for knotting Stretch Magic elastic thread?
I’m a beginning beader, working with elastic thread for the first time. I don’t want to use a crimp bead, so does anyone have any suggestions for knotting the elastic thread?
I have that stuff on hand, but I’ve never yet used it. My first inclinations would be either a “surgeon’s knot” or the bow-knot variation of the same. For the the bow knot, begin as normal then loop-through-twice instead of once and tighten as normal.
If you have extra material, experiment first by making rings. I’d try flame-sealing knots, glue-sealing and sealing with clear fingernail polish. I’ve not yet tried these on that material. So far one or another of the three has worked for all of my general craft uses.
