Suede on my bag got wet…?
Hey. I have a lovely brown leather bag, with reddish suede on the inside. Some time ago I managed to stain my bag with biro ink (argh!), but my father managed to get that mostly cleaned up, somehow. He gave the bag back to me, but there is a large blotch on the suede where it is dark and hard/crispy, where it has been water-stained.
I read somewhere that holding the bag under a kettle and brushing it with a suede brush works, so I tried doing this (but I used a cat brush instead 
) as a test. Well, it’s somewhat loosened up the hard part of the suede, which is a blessing, and the area of darkness has been reduced, so I guess there is hope yet?
So I’m just asking, are there any other tips that can be offered to make my bag look new? Or, at least, better than it was?
I plan on buying a suede brush to smarten it up. I just want to make my bag look… nicer, not necessarily perfect.

You don’t really want to try wet cleaning suede as it may leave water marks. You’re best using a suede brush to raise the nap which will also remove any loose dirt.
As someone said before, you can also dye the suede which will “hide” the water mark. We manufacture our own dyes which can be found here should you want anymore information on them.
